Layne Tisdel Martin is a novelist, playwright, actor, and producer who was born and raised on the North Texas prairie. She is an incurably curious nomad whose three great loves are travel, writing, and theater. She is beyond grateful to have lived and worked in 60 different countries across all seven continents.
She studied journalism, fiber arts, and ethnomusicology at the University of North Texas and hitchhiked away from her hometown with nothing but a backpack as soon as she graduated. She landed in Seattle, where she studied drama and produced theater until she moved into her suitcase in 2015 and gave away everything that wouldn't fit. She's been happily living as a citizen of the world ever since.
Layne has published travel, fashion, and music writing in AAA Travel Views, reAct Magazine, and Lotus Magazine. She is a full member of the UK Society of Authors. As an artist, she enjoys coming up with explanations for the inexplicable. She also loves to write about the mechanics of creativity and the liminal spaces where the creative process overlaps with the unseen world.
